Executive Director, Sherrie Murphy
It is my goal to have our clients greeted with love and compassion as soon as they enter our center. We desire to meet them in their moment of crisis and help show them the love of Jesus and a path that God can place them on to help them thrive in their life as parents.
I am Sherrie Murphy, Executive Director of the CPC- Pregnancy and Family Resource Center. My husband Jay and I have been married for 32 years. After 13 years of trying to conceive, God blessed us with our daughter Abigail in 2006. I have had the privilege of homeschooling her throughout her entire grade school years. My husband and I attend Shiloh Baptist Church in Louisville where he has pastor for the past 16 years. As a family we have enjoyed being involved in the different aspects of ministry.
My family has been affiliated with the CPC Pregnancy and Family Resource Center for many years. In 2022, I answered the call to come the CPC to become one of the staff. I enjoy meeting clients and telling them about Jesus. It is a joy to be able to share the Mission of the CPC with so many who enter our facility as well as attend events at churches and other organizations to speak about that mission. It is with grace and humility that I approach each day to best serve the Lord in the capacity that he has placed me. I praise the Lord for every opportunity that he gives me to share about Him.
Board Member, Kristi McCown
Kristi McCown resides in rural Neshoba County, with her husband, Jay. They have five children and one daughter-in-law; two of their children live at home and are still in high school, while the other three have moved out to start their own lives. Kristi is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Louisville, Mississippi and holds a Biblical Counseling certificate from CCEF. She serves as the Mississippi Valley Presbytery Women’s Ministry Team Coordinator, a role that involves ministering to women in 47 different churches across central Mississippi.
In addition to her church ministry work, Kristi is the co-owner of M&S Furniture, Inc. in Philadelphia, Mississippi. She also serves on the board of directors for the CPC- Pregnancy and Family Resource Center in Neshoba County.
Jennifer Nelson
Jennifer has been at the CPC since August 2022, serving as a counselor and helping with office duties. She lives in Newton County with her husband of 30 years, David, who is an evangelist with the Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Association. They have attended Little Rock Baptist Church since 1997. They have four adult children and had the opportunity to homeschool them throughout their academic years.
One of Jennifer’s favorite parts about working at the CPC is seeing her clients overcome difficult situations and thriving. Walking alongside someone in a crisis, praying for them, and encouraging them in the Lord is a blessing.
Sharing Jesus with people is a priority for us at the CPC because we know He is the answer for all things! We strive to show His love to everyone who comes through our door.
